A Journey for the Soul
GETHSEMANE GARDENS is a sacred space where beauty, devotion, and spiritual reflection converge. Set on hallowed ground at the historic St. Patrick Cemetery in Maysville, Ky, this six-acre garden invites visitors to walk where Christ once walked, to remember, to reflect, and to reconnect with the meaning of sacrifice and hope. Imported from northern Italy, 14 life-sized bronze statues represent the Stations of the Cross to create an immersive journey through the Passion of Christ along a winding path modeled after the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem, Latin for the “sorrowful way” Christ walked before His crucifixion.
"This is Kentucky’s spiritual landscape. a place where people from all over the world can feel, can remember, and can renew their faith." — Gerald Lundergan, Founder & Visionary
Whether you're a believer, seeker, pilgrim, or tourist, GETHSEMANE GARDENS offers an experience that transcends denomination and speaks to the deep places of the heart.

Founder Jerry Lundergan and his wife, Charlotte, at the groundbreaking ceremony for Gethsemane Gardens.

Jerry Lundergan is a lifelong Maysville resident and parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He envisioned GETHSEMANE GARDENS as a spiritual gift to his hometown and beyond. Baptized, married, and destined to be laid to rest within this very cemetery, Jerry’s vision is rooted in memory, reverence, and an enduring love for Christ and community.
With philanthropic passion and patience, he has transformed a childhood memory into a sacred space for the world.
